Shapemeasure uses a custom-built lidar unit to very precisely measure the dimensions of a project, like stairs or cabinets, including nearly invisible flaws. This information is sent to a robotic lumber processor that creates all the wood you need, perfectly pre-cut to the exact size and angles needed. They claim it can speed up some projects by 3-4x.
