The Supermicro battery backup power unit, or BBP, provides an in-system server battery backup solution. They are self-contained and hot-swappable units which can charge and deliver system power in real time during AC power interruptions. Meanwhile, the BBP modules feature I²C / Smart Battery Monitoring through remote management that promotes long life and high durability. Hence, they provide time for fail-safe switchover to alternative power sources or for orderly shutdowns.
